New release, 1.1.0!


As promised, here's the newest version of the cryptHero, 1.1.0.

In this version, we have a lot of new stuff, starting with new NPC dialogues to help with the lore and the tone of the game. I also implemented the new level designs that I talked about in the last devlog. I also added 4 new monsters and some furniture to make the place more lively.

One important thing that was implemented here was a better balance of the monster, in the last devlog, I mentioned that after fixing a few bugs with the combat the game became impossible to beat. Well looks like I fixed it, it's far from perfect, but at least now you can see the final level and possibly kill the boss. To fix it, I added new monsters and removed the "scaling" of the goblins HP over the crypt levels.

Looks like the HP ramp I implemented for the goblins was way too fast and made it impossible to kill them fast enough. Now we have 4 more monsters, one weaker and 3 stronger that are distributed through the levels. The type of monsters is somewhat random, using a bell distribution over a list of monsters, this will make that starting levels have weaker monsters in bigger proportion and some medium monster and the deeper levels have stronger monsters.

You still need to check your health, to make sure you don't die, but the new fountains will replenish them. Also, don't forget to use the period to wait a turn so the monsters don't have a free hit on you at their turn.

Finally, this weekend was really fun, working hard to bring this release to you. The new way I work with the consoles is so great and will allow me to expand the game easily. The next things I'll work on will be colours for the logs and HP, and implementing the furniture interactions.
